One of my favorite things on the entire planet is a high tea, but also, I’m not so into leaving the house. (Kidding, not kidding).
Tea Parties are the greatest, because it’s the perfect way to make fun with your family or even to invite your friends over to enjoy.

At our house, tea parties are a crowd favorite for two reasons: because the rule is that everyone has to go get very fancy (whatever that means to each child at any given moment is always a sight to behold) and use their best manners, and also because the third course of a high tea is a true sugar addict’s dream.

Also, I am pleased to inform you that my kids have all developed a ‘fancy manner voice’ so they say things with a faux British accent such as “pleeeeease motherr, might I have a spot of teaaaaaa?’

High Tea Involves three courses:
First Course- The Savory Course
Second Course- Scones with Clotted Cream and Jam
Third Course- The Sweet Course
For the Savory Course, Your options are endless, but here are a few of my personal favorite tea sandwiches:
- Egg Salad
- Banana bread with a Thin Layer of Cream Cheese
- Herbed butter and cucumber
- Chives and butter
- Chicken Salad
- Tomato and Cream Cheese
- Pimento Cheese
- Red Pepper Sandwich
- (Don’t be a hero) Peanut Butter and Banana/Jelly/Honey

For the scones:
Of course, I’m not here to tell you how to live, and you can absolutely go with a traditional scone….
BUT This Scone with delicious chunks of apricot and white chocolate is really special.

For the final course, there are plenty of sweets that you can buy off the shelf, but I have also compiled a few recipes that you’ll love
- Shortbread, purchased or made from scratch
- Eclairs
- Pirouettes
- Tiny Napoleons
- Small Cookies
- Thumbprint Cookies
- Brookies

And, Tea! Let us not forget the tea!
My favorite brand is Harney and Son’s or David’s fine tea but there are several great options, I love to have milk and sugar in individual sizes at my table, because it’s just so cute!

Fancy up the table with some fresh cut flowers and your fancy pants linens you don’t use enough and you’re set! This is so easy to expand for a larger group.
So, what do you say, will I see you at my next tea?
Such a nice breakfast!
Nice blog! You’ll see me at your next tea😉
